What is an online wedding invitation website?

Online wedding invitation websites have become very popular over the last few years. Couples and guests have reported back that they love the fact that all the information about the wedding is found in one place, no waste (or guilt) for that expensive paper invitation that inevitably ends up in the waste paper bin – the most eco-friendly invitation you could get! Also no problems with the postal service going on strike or loosing invitations causing you to phone family or friends to find out if they will be attending the wedding. Instead you have a custom made wedding invitation website that captures your personality and character whilst serving as an invitation, information about the wedding and an RSVP form all in one. It can be as modern or as traditional as you like, include personal anecdotes and even have a theme that can be pulled through to your wedding decorations. The world is your oyster and you are in charge! Please have a look at one of our examples of a wedding invitation website and also read this article, Wedding Invitations – Fresh, Fun, Eco-friendly and Online!  about the many possibilities and features an online wedding invitation website could have.

Do I really need SEO

If you have a company website you definitely need Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). Without it there is no way you could get a good search engine result page (SERP) listing in any search engine. There is no use in spending money on a website if no one can find it. Ideally you want your website to appear on the first page of any search result for search terms that are relevant to your business. The only way of doing this is with good SEO. Please read this article, SEO 101 – What is SEO and why do I need a professional? which will explain in detail what SEO is and why it is vitally important.

Can I have a one page website?

The only time a one page website is acceptable is if it’s part of a plan to develop a full website with lots of content that can be optimised for search engines. There is simply no way to do Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) on a one page site. If you can’t afford a full website straight away, our advice would be to buy your domain first of all – you don’t want someone else to buy the domain for your company name, forcing you have to find another name or find a domain that closest resembles your company name. A one page site can then be set up for you with your contact details, company information and a link to a free social media page like Facebook. Over time pages can then be added to your site as you can afford it. Just be aware that you will not ever show up in a Google search without a full website with good content that has been optimised for search engines.

A lot of websites look the same these days, will mine too?

At Red Swirl Design all our websites are custom made. This means your website is one of a kind, we don’t sell you a template like a lot of other web design companies might do. We design the website specifically for you and your needs. For this reason we can also design to your budget. Please see the question about costs.

How and when can changes be made to the website?

There are two options for making changes to a website:

1) If you have a maintenance package with Red Swirl Design we can make changes for you as and when you need them. We will also update your website monthly so that you know your content management system, plugins and security is 100% up to date. This is not only necessary for security reasons but also for functionality in different browsers and platforms. The internet is an ever-evolving entity so it is very important to keep your website up to date if you want to avoid problems.

2) If you maintain the site yourself and the changes you need to make are beyond your scope of knowledge, Red Swirl Design can quote you for the changes that you want.

How much personal contact is there during the whole process?

How much personal contact we have is completely up to you. We will discuss this in our first meeting and determine how often we check in with you. Design is a fluid process and an idea often grows as we go along. For that reason some customers prefer to be very involved in every aspect. For those people we will keep you in the loop at all times with every decision, from the font and the colour to the layout and content. We will check in with you regularly to see if we are still on the same page.

On the other hand – especially with bigger companies – people are often very busy and they don’t want to be bothered with the smaller details. For this reason we have created a test server where clients can see progress as we go along. They can login into the test server as and when they want to and give us feedback if they wish to do so. Please read the following page – How We Work – which will tell you more about the process we follow at Red Swirl Design.

How much will it cost me?

As every website is unique and custom made it is very difficult to give a price before we’ve had a discussion about what you need. After our initial discussion – either a personal meeting, by phone or by email, we will draw up a quote that details how much the project will cost. If the quote is not acceptable to you we can discuss how we can change the project to suit your budget. Either by minimizing special features, dividing the project into stages that are done slowly over time, or arranging a payment plan. If you have a small budget to start with, we can design a site that can grow with your business. Pages and special features can be added as you can afford it. The cost involved is also influenced by how soon you need it. If you are in a hurry and we need to use all our resources for your website it will be a little more expensive but it will be done really quickly. If your budget is very small we can design and develop your website as and when resources are available. Rest assured, the quality will NEVER be compromised, the only difference would be the time-scale.

How long will my website take be to completed

How long it takes to design the website depends on how complicated the site is. The more features it has the longer it will take. If SEO is included that again will add to the time scale. At a minimum you would be looking at two weeks for a website. The following page: How We Work will give you a good idea of the process we follow when designing a website.
